Exhibition Intensions:

Metchosin ArtPod Gallery invites artists of all disciplines to submit work for Thread: Weaving Narratives, an exhibition exploring fibre and thread as both material and metaphor. This fibre-forward exhibition welcomes submissions in any medium—painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, textiles, digital, mixed media, and more—responding to the idea of threads as connectors, storytellers, and agents of transformation. We are interested in work that uses fibre or thread directly, or interprets their qualities and symbolism through other materials. Submissions might explore themes of connection, memory, family, migration, identity, and community, and can range from intimate pieces to large-scale installations. We encourage artwork that engages the senses, draws on personal or collective narratives, and fosters emotional or conceptual resonance. Whether your practice is rooted in fibre techniques, draws inspiration from textiles, or adopts a conceptual approach using other materials, your perspective is valued. This exhibition aims to build a vibrant, integrated tapestry in which all artistic voices and media contribute to a shared exploration of connectivity. All artists are encouraged to apply.
We look forward to seeing how you weave your story into this exhibition!

We welcome works in all mediums.
All work will be juried by an independent juror: Elizabeth Carefoot

Preparing your Work for the Juror
The Juror of the exhibition will only see your image, your medium, and your artist statement. You will have 1000 words to create an artist statement that situates the work submitted with your artist practice and the theme of the show. You must spend some time composing it, as the juror will use it in considering how the work relates to the theme and understanding the nature of the work. Please keep in mind that your statement will be used verbatim in the exhibition book that will be sent to Library and Archives Canada as a permanent record of the exhibition and your work. For image quality, see submission guidelines on the Metchosin ArtPod website.

ArtCall will time out after an hour and anything not saved will disappear, so it is recommended that for longer text you writing it in a word processor then cut and paste the passage into ArtCall. Also, update (Save) the submission frequently with the update button at the end of the page.
